History

Inititally released in 2016, SFT was my try at a Platform Fighter (to moderate success). Xavier the Alien by BlankBear was added through the Character Creation Contest and I made an update containing our eventual beloved ScratchRunning mascot: Edward the Snowman. But of course, the game never got out of its unfinished Beta-state and still had lots of flaws.

In 2019, I stumbled upon the then small ScratchRunning community ran by Keiron, and we started connecting over SFT together with Piebro101 and Jocers, eventually recording the first SRCast, expanding our community from there and meeting lots of talented Scratchers in the process.

Which brings us to 2023, when this talented bunch of Scratchers decided to revisit the game that got them together and finally create a good version of it. So in a way, SFrT is the love letter to ScratchRunning as a whole.

The SFrT Demo released with two characters and stages in May, 2024 and sparked a new era for ScratchRunning: The community grew, we held a bunch of tournaments and even launched this website along with it!

With the full release a year later, we polished up the whole roster of the original game and even brought in a completely new sixth character that the community unlocked together! That said, there's still a lot we wanted to do for the game, so it looks like there's still an exciting journey ahead for ScratchRunning and SFrT...
